Jim Ijenwa Unah was born on 15 April 1956 at Agbor, Delta State of Nigeria. He obtained my B.A. Honors degree in Second Class Upper Division in 1982 and the MPhil and PhD degrees in 1985 and 1989, respectively from the Department of Philosophy, University of Lagos. He was appointed Lecturer in December 1985 at the University of Lagos, and became Full Professor of Philosophy in 1999; authored and edited 18 books in philosophy; 47 chapters in books, and 24 journal articles. I have supervised over 129 M. A. Long Essays, 30 MBA Dissertations, and 9 PhD Theses. He has researched and published in Phenomenology, Metaphysics, Applied Ontology, Ethics, African Philosophy, and Peace Studies. Some of his important works include, among others, Corruption in Nigeria: Dimensions and Ramifications (2015); Finding Common Grounds for a Dialogue between African and Chinese Ethics (2014b); The Culture of Peace as Key to World Stability, Progress and Peaceful Co-existence: Evolving a Phenomenological Culture of Peace (2013); Self-discovery: Who am I? An Ontologized Ethics of Self-mastery (2011); Ideals of Democracy: Issues, Assumptions, Illusions, and Preconditions (2009a); Values and Development (2009b); Public Morality and the Phenomenon of Corruption (2008), and Even Nothing is Something Inaugural Lecture (2006). Administrative Experience He was the Administrative Head of Philosophy for five years; inducted a Fellow of the Nigeria Philosophical Association (2012) appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) at the Premier University of Sao Tome and Principe, Gulf of Guinea (2013 to 2015); elected President of the Nigeria Philosophical Association (Oct. 2016), and conferred with the title of Distinguished Professor, University of Lagos, on January 26, 2017. PASSION FOR AGRICULTURE He has combined his academic career with a passion for agriculture a passion nurtured from childhood, having been brought up in a family of farmers. In 2005, he traveled to the National Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR), Benin City to procure 1200 palm seedlings which was planted on 18 acres of farmland in Ebueno, in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State. The EBUENO Farm has been producing palm oil in the last 12 or 13 years, and has since been incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). He has acquired some farmland in Ogun State which is undergoing land preparation for livestock farming. In a matter of months fencing of the 6 acre farmland will commence.
